PURPOSE:To eliminate a start delay immediately after the startup of an engine by decreasing the fluid pressure rise rate of a low-speed select friction element in an automatic shift range for normal drive, and increasing the rate in a backward travel range for reverse rotation output. CONSTITUTION:In shifting a sub-transmission via the coupling of a low-speed select friction element RD/B so provided as to be in parallel to a one-way clutch, the rise rate of the coupling pressure is made small in a normal drive range (automatic shift range) with the operation of an accumulator 68. Furthermore, RD/B is coupled after releasing a high-speed select friction element DC and then the engagement of the one-way clutch, thereby restraining a gear change shock. On the other hand, the rise rate of the coupling pressure is increased at the time of the reverse rotation output (backward travel), thereby quickly coupling RD/B. According to the aforesaid construction, a start delay immediately after an engine startup and the coupling shock of the low-speed select friction element RD/B due to engine racing related to the start delay can be properly prevented. |
