PURPOSE:To improve the correcting ability of a web developer by utilizing the web in a cleaning device of fixing and controlling a reciprocating driving mechanism which reciprocates the web in the direction of a bus line of a fixing roller. CONSTITUTION:When the copying KEY is inputted, paper feeding is started by the rotation of a paper feeding roller. Before the paper is fed and made to reach the pair of resisting rollers 107, the paper is passed through 114a and 114b of a paper thickness detecting sensor. Then, paper thickness is checked. The paper thickness detecting sensor judges whether it is low or not. If it is YES, that is, the signal is low, since the paper is a thick one, a motor 22 is rotated, the reciprocating driving mechanism is activated, and by having the web 5 carry out reciprocating (go back and forth) in the direction of (b), the correcting ability of the developer is improved, and generation of offsetting can be prevented. Then the paper is sent to the next process. If it is NO, that is, the signal is high, then, since the paper is thin, the motor 22 is not activated, that is, the web is not reciprocated and image formation is carried out. |
