The loading mechanism is for a gun used for driving dowels into building structures by explosive charges. The loading mechanism consists of a housing fitted rigidly to the gun body. Part of the housing is a bracket with an extension carrying sleeve. The sleeve serves as a support for the end of a plastic tube. The tube has an oval cross section when empty but is pliable, so that a number of explosive cartridges can be inserted into the tube. The tube end is held in place by a clamping action between tube and sleeve. The inner dia. of the tube and that of the sleeve are identical and the cartridges are transported in succession from the exit opening of the sleeve into the adjacent bore. The transport of the cartridge is carried out by squeezing the oval or elliptic plastic tube. |
