<p>A particulate solid and a gas are contacted in counter-current flow. The appts. comprises a column with solid inlet at the top and outlets at the bottom. Baffles which partially block the column cross section are arranged one above the other and alternative on opposite sides of the column. Each baffle has a downward sloping section, a perforated horizontal part and a vertically downward projection. Used for absorbing components from gases, for catalytically leaking gases and for recovering volatile components from solids, in partic. for stripping used cracker catalyst.</p> |
