A method for building a masonry structure comprising rows of building blocks, using a horizontal guide line as a reference for aligning the building blocks, the horizontal guide line being supported by posts of two devices. The method involves correcting the upright position of at least one of the posts by adjusting the distance of the distal end of a supporting organ of the device to a base of the device by rotating a threaded organ, such as a bolt.
