The upper section 10 of the rod is of the same material as tube 11, but the lower section 12 is of material such as Invar (RTM) having a lesser coefficient of thermal expansion, so that the tube reacts immediately to changing temperature to establish communication between connection 1 and connection 3 or 5 and the rod reacts subsequently to reduce the extent of the communication by an amount dependent on the relative lengths of tube 11 and section 10. Rotation of cap 2 adjusts the set point due to the threaded connection with base 9. |
