The base may be of plastics or plastics-coated fabric and the fibres or filaments, which may be of rotresistant polyamide, polyester, polyurethane, polyacrylonitrile, polyvinyl chloride, glass, asbestos or basalt, may be attached to the base by electrostatic flocking using a separate adhesive or with melting or dissolving the plastics. In use, water is absorbed by the porous layer and may be retained or run off by the force of gravity.</p> |
