<p>1343103 Bearings W SCHAEFFLER and G SCHAEFFLER [trading as INDUSTRIEWERK SCHAEFFLER oHG] 2 May 1972 [3 May 1971] 20405/72 Heading F2A A radial roller bearing cage consisting of cross-pieces and end rings is formed from a flat strip of sheet metal stamped into the shape of a ladder, and has cross-piece portions 9, 10 which in use come into contact with the outer race 11 of the bearing and which are convexly curved on their outer surfaces. The radius of curvature of the said surfaces may be equal to or less than that of the outer race 11 (as at 9 and 10 respectively). The centre portions 12, 13 of the cross-pieces are cranked; in an alternative embodiment, they are straight. The curvatures on the cross-piece portions are formed by non- cutting shaping before or after the flat strip is bent into an annulus. The ends of the strip may be welded together.</p> |
