The combined box and winding-drum is designed to house a domestic electric extension cable, and has a dual-purpose box handle. The handle is of 'T' shape with the two arms for manual transportation and hanging purposes. The leg of the 'T' may project from the top box face and the arms align parallel to that face with the hanger arm terminally hooked down. The box includes an external drum winder and an external socket which receives an appliance lead plug. The socket is connected to the internally fixed end of the extension cable and the free cable end has a plug for insertion in a source supply socket. The box may be of interconnected demi-shells and may include a dummy socket for the extension cable plug when not in use.
