The slimline battery operated watch has a frame ring (12) with a given internal configuration, a circuit module (14) and a battery (16). The circuit module (14) and the battery (16) are both formed as thin discs with the same width as the interior of the frame ring (12) which holds the superimposed battery (16) and circuit module (14) together. Pref. the watch back (18) is screwed onto the frame ring (12) so as to clamp the battery (16) and the circuit module (14) against a shoulder around the upper edge of the frame ring (12).
