Ni is sepd. from Co by electrodepositing Ni at the cathode in the presence of a suspension of particles contg. S, Se, Te, Sb or As, in a free or combined state. The addns. appear to reduce the overpotential of the Ni deposit without noticeably modifying that of the Co deposite giving each selectivity towards Ni at the cathode.
