<p>The ski (1) is used for moving over the water, one being worn on each foot. It is made from a suitable material to float on the water and has a eel (15) at the rear. In the centre is a well (4, 5) contg. a flexible housing (6) for the foot. On the underside (7) immediately below the wall, are several aerofoil sections (10) arranged vertically (9) and pivoting (12) about each end. When the wearer takes a step forwards, these sections open to give unobstructed water passage. When the same ski is stationary and the other ski moved forwards, the aerofoils are closed to prevent backwards movement.</p> |
