<p>A mobile power tool intended for railway maintenance is mounted on a set of wheels (1) underneath the power unit. A transmission shaft (2) conveys the drive to a gearbox (3) and thence to a pair of nut running sockets (5) via shafts (4). An alternative to the shaft (4) is a right angled gear with a socketed end, driven by a square extension from the main gearbox (3). Various standard square drive sockets can be used on this extension. A pivoting arrangement allows selection of the alternative tools for tightening sleeper bolts or fishplates in turn.</p> |
