<p>Machine uses a slide fitted with two electrode carriers, each provided with a clamping piece; and the working surface of each clamping piece is flat, slightly curved, or contains a trapezoidal recess. A work cylinder uses a pair of levers to drive the electrodes and clamping pieces towards a thrust pad, thus clamping the wires against the pad. The clamping pieces, and the lining inside the thrust pad, are pref. interchangeable, and are pref. made of non-conducting materials. The electrodes pref. have a flat or concave working surface; and the electrodes carriers are pref. spring-loaded. Used in tying together bundles of steel bars, or coils of wire, using metal binding wire which is less expensive than binding strips, where the machine makes a strong weld between two metal wires.</p> |
