The present invention relates to an organic electroluminescent device which exhibits highly efficient luminous characteristics based on an effect of improving electron density distribution by having an efficient host-dopant energy transfer mechanism. Also, the organic electroluminescent device overcomes characteristics of a conventional material such as degradation of initial efficiency, and short lifespan, thereby securing high performance luminous characteristics having high efficiency and long lifespan for each color. The organic electroluminescent device has an organic layer interposed between a positive electrode and a negative electrode on a substrate, wherein the organic layer comprises a luminous layer. The luminous layer includes: at least one dopant compound represented by chemical formula 1; and at least one host compound represented by chemical formula 5.
