Calcining crude cement to mfr. clinker - using scrap fuels, e.g. Fullers earth contg. oil, as part of the fuel required

Cement clinker is made in a heat exchanger and a rotary drum furnace, where part of the fuel required is fed into the heat exchanger, separately from the crude cement, and without the use of a special burner device. The fuel is pref. added to the heat exchanger or travelling grate of a Lepol kiln, esp. in the heating chamber. The pref. fuel is active or bleaching earth contg. oil, and obtd. from oil refining, esp. earth contg. by wt. 30-50% oil and with size 2-20 mm. The fuel pref. represents 15% of the total fuel employed in the process. Scrap fuels, esp. fullers' earth previously deposited on rubbish dumps can be used, saving fuel costs and also avoiding pollution.
