The operating theatre illumination fitting can be adjusted by a universal joint in its frame in all directions. The illumination unit has several lamps. This illumination unit influences the sterile, laminar air column to minimum extent. At least the resultant air shadow is reduced to such an extent that the working field is no longer influenced. The lamps (5) are connected by a thin armed support structure which disturbs a laminar flow of air only slightly. These members are held on the base so that they can swivel. The lamps are halogen lamps (10) with connected reflector (11) and with associated collector lens (14). The support structure has a central element connected so that it can rotate on the base. The support members project from central elements for supporting each one lamp unit (5). |
