Lid esp. for drinking vessel has a rigid top (4) with an elastically deformable sealing lip (3) on its under side whereby the lip can seal against the inner circumference of the vessel near the top. A cap (14) forming a central part of the sealing element below the top has several star-like cuts or point openings whereby a drinking straw can be passed through a central opening in the rigid top and through the cap to the vessel. A suction element can be provided on the edge of the top and enables the lid to be attached by the cap to the outer side of the vessel.
