<p>Filter press consists of a series of filter frames, each with a draw-off cock for its filtrate. The grids which form the sides of the filter frame and support the filtering cloth, are reduced in thickness to 30 mm. Pref. materials for the grids are: rubber (possibly with inserts), plated metal or synthetic material, threads or chains. The thinner filter frames are pref. used with spacer frames: the filtrate is led, through a boring at the edge, from the filter frame into the spacer frame, and it is here that the draw-off cock is now fitted.</p> |
