<p>A unitized tapping head is incorporated into the turret of a multiple-tool punch press. The tapping head includes a unique replaceable cartridge which houses a tap and a feed lead screw. A self-contained drive unit rotates the cartridge to advance the tap at the same lead as the threads on the feed lead screw. The cartridge is held only by a simple spring clip and thus is easily replaced with the same or a different combination tap and corresponding feed lead screw.</p> |
