The hedge cutter has blades for vertical and horizontal trimming. The cutters consist of two adjacent, opposite pointing bars (7, 8) to which are fixed two sided blades (18, 19). The bars (7, 8) are hinged by means of several pivoting levers (5, 6) to a frame (4) and move parallel to it by at least a blade width. The ends of the pivot levers (5, 6) in the frame (4) run over a support roller (15) mounted on the base of the frame (4). The bolt (11) fixes the pivot levers (5, 6), so that the two sides (4a, 4b) of the frame are braced in relation to each other. Maintenance free washers (13, 14) are used for mounting the pivot levers (5, 6), and the cutting edges of the blades (18, 19) converge at the front.
