PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly durable exhaust system structure that can sufficiently secure strength of a connecting portion between a muffler and an exhaust pipe relative to vibration of a vehicle while having a simple structure.SOLUTION: An exhaust system structure 1 includes a muffler 2 and a downstream side exhaust pipe 4. The muffler 2 includes: a cylindrical body portion; a second end plate 23 for closing one side in the axial direction of the body portion; and a second inner pipe 28 disposed to penetrate through the second end plate 23 and connected to the downstream side exhaust pipe 4. The second end plate 23 has a cylindrical projecting portion 231 formed in the axial direction of the muffler 2 in the projecting manner. In the cylindrical projecting portion 231, the second inner pipe 28 is inserted leaving a predetermined space 29 relative to the cylindrical projecting portion 231. In the space 29, one end portion in the axial direction of the downstream side exhaust pipe 4 is inserted.
