Combined methanol reformer and gas combustion system - using exhaust gas heat for reformer and double pipe heat exchanger

In a methanol reformer producing combustible gas mixtures the reforming catalyst is contained in the outer annulus of a double pipe heat exchanger through the inner pipe of which flows the hot exhaust gas which arises from the combustion of this gas mixt. supplying the heat required to vapourise the methanol and to effect the endothermic reforming reaction. Used in combined systems incorporating methanol reforming and the combustion of the resultant gas mixt. e.g. in i.c. engine (piston or turbine), boilers or furnaces.
