The appts. includes a driven endless conveyor band (10) to transport the envelopes which grips each envelope on a folding edge with conveyor links (63) close to the conveyor band to successively guide each envelope with the flap closed on to the conveyor band in a mainly horizontal plane. There are opening links to open the flaps into a largely horizontal and open position, applicator links (84, 86) to apply sealing material on to both flap and pocket section of the envelope and a drying installation to dry the sealing material. In addition there are take off links (142) to remove processed envelopes from the conveyor and to collect the envelopes with the sealing material. |
