<p>New 2-substd. 5-p-diethylaminophenyl-1,3,4-oxadiazole derivs. are of formula (I) In (I) R is 1-4C alkyl, 1-4C dialkylamino, diarylamino, phenyl, styryl, halophenyl, nitrophenyl, 1-4C alkyl-phenyl, 1-4C alkoxyphenyl, cyanophenyl, phenyl with a carboxylic ester substit., dialkylaminophenyl, naphthyl, anthryl or a heterocyclic gp. (I) are used in electrophotographic recording materials for charge transport. They are used in conjunction with a charge-forming pigment and binder in a single light-sensitive layer or separate charge transport and charge-forming layers. In an example, (II) was prepd. by heating a mixt. of diethylaminoben onitrile, Na azide and LiCl in a solvent and converted to 2-methyl-5-(p-diethylaminophenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole by reaction with acetyl chloride.</p> |
