Compressor with an after cooler for the air pressure supplied by the compressor, especially oil injected screw action compressors where the cooling air flows in series arrangement both through the after cooler and the oil cooler. A channel surrounding the after cooler (3) is provided for the cooling air which may be closed or opened as required. The channel (4) surrounding the after cooler (3) may be opened by one or more flaps (5) which when in the open position cover the after cooler. The after cooler is positioned in a cooling air channel the cross section surface of which is >= the surface of the cooler.
