Hand brake valve for compressed air brakes - has spring brake control point adjustable by valve seat carried on threaded bush

The hand brake valve actuator rod passes through the housing to depress a valve seat screwed to a second actuator rod. The movable valve seat is formed on a threaded bush which has an outer sextant profile. The threaded bush is secured by a stud which locks the bush to the actuator rod. The spring brake switch point can be adjusted by altering the position of the valve seat on the actuator rod by a suitable work tool.
