<p>The buoyant load carrying mat. comprises interconnected floats pref. shaped as solids of rotation, supporting a load carrying grip platform (4) via hollow vertical spindles (2) sliding inside cylinders (11). A hose system allows the floats to be pressurised to provide hydropneumatic suspension. Sideways steadying links are elastic for the cylinder and jointed between downward extensions from the floats, to limit float movement to the vertical plane though there is some all-round flexibility. Damping is provided by sinkers linked to balance weights by ropes running over pulleys at the bottom of the floats.</p> |
