The storage drum (4) rotating in a column (1) carries marking strips (6). A lever (15) can rotate about and move along the column (1) against a spring (21) pressure. It has a driving projection (20), so that the corresp. marking strip (6) is pulled out by the length of one mark at each lever movement. A cutter (18) cuts off the outermost mark (23). Its transversal movement inserts the wire end into a hole in the column.
