<p>The shell is fitted with honing strips for multi-shell honing tools which consist of a cylindrical body and at least two shells fitted externally to the body and arched in cross-section. These have honing strips which are fitted in longitudinal grooves on the shell outside. A guide- and setting device allows the shells to be brought out of an output position on the body into an extreme spreader position as well as into intermediate positions radially spaced from the body. They can also be returned into the output position. A front side clamp fixing holds the honing strips in the longitudinal grooves (6) of the shells (1). Each longitudinal groove (6) is bonded by a front bridge (2) and a rear bridge (3). One of the two bridges has a threaded longitudinal bore (9) to accept a screw, while the other bridge (2) serves as a thrust bearing when the honing strip (11) is inserted into the longitudinal groove (6).</p> |
