The worm of the wormdrive consists of two parts, which arekeyed to one another but which can slide relative to one another. Several teeth of the worm-wheel are in engagement with the worm at the same time. Some of these teeth engage with one section of the worm, while the other teeth are in contact with the other part of the worm. One part of the worm (24) is moved relative to the other part by means of a threaded sleeve (73). When the parts of the worm are pushed together, the flanks of the worm thread which lie opposite one another. Play in the worm-drive is thereby removed. The threaded sleeves which adjust the position of the wormparts, engage with threaded rings (91, 92) which are pushed apart by springs, so that the adjusting thread is also free from play.
|
