The mould surface shaping the end faces of the teeth on >=1 side has the configuration of the mantle of a conus, with the axis of the wheel coinciding with the axis of the conus, in such a way that the end faces of the teeth of the resulting moulding are undercut. Service life of the mould is prolonged by the design. Prodn. of rejects is reduced. The moulded gear wheel can have relatively longer teeth than when mfd. with conventionally designed moulds.
