The aperture plate arrangement for a rod shaped ultraviolet light source has several plates held parallel to each other. The circular plates have each a hole which accommodates the ultraviolet radiating body longitudinally. The holes of individual plates being aligned axially. These plates ensure that ultraviolet light can pass only between two adjacent plates. This arrangement can be accommodated in the already existing supply tube vertically without additional demand for space. This arrangement can be used in an operating theatre or in a laboratory. The holes (14) of the plates (12) are designed for holding long slender ultraviolet radiators and also for simultaneous accommodation of a service installation tube (63). The latter tube is arranged into an operating theatre or laboratory vertically on the ceiling (10).
