<p>1455096 Retarding combustion of aqueous t-butyl hydroperoxide OXIRANE CORP 3 April 1974 [4 April 1973] 14813/74 Heading C2C Aqueous tertiary butyl hydroperoxide, approximately 30% by weight water and 70% hydroperoxide, in a container is in contact with a minor amount of a polyolefin having a melt index in the range 0À2 to 10, the polyolefin, being provided either in the form of particles in an amount of 0À6 to 6 weight per cent of the aqueous hydroperoxide, or in the form of a liner for the container, the liner being 0À7 to 7 mm. thick. The polyolefin is suitably polyethylene or polypropylene. The presence of the polyolefin reduces the danger of rapid combustion of the hydroperoxide.</p> |
