For application as a paint, the binder may be used with or without pigment and/or filler. The monovinyl component of the copolymer may be an alkyl or cycloalkyl acrylate or methacrylate, phenyl acrylate, styrene, a substituted styrene, a vinyl ester, vinyl chloride or acrylonitrile. Such monomers may also be used as the liquid vinyl monomers; other suitable liquid monomers include hydroxy acrylates, cyanoalkyl, haloalkyl and alkoxyalkyl acrylates, acrylic acid, divinylbenzene, diacrylates, triacrylates and tetraacrylates. Coating films of the compositions are preferably cured with electron beams.</p> |
