1424837 Valves ZAHNRADFABRIK FRIEDRICHSHAFEN AG 10 Oct 1973 [12 Oct 1972] 47240/73 Heading F2V A valve has inlet and outlet apertures 8, 9, Fig. 1, a resilient ball 4, e.g. of plastics, a rigid ball 5, e.g. of plastics or metal, and a slidable actuator 7 which on rightward movement causes the rigid ball 5 to force the resilient ball 4 against apertures 8, 9 and thereby prevent flow. The ball 4 in its relaxed condition is larger than the diameter of the bore 2 so that it is housed therein with initial tension and thereby prevents leakage. In an alternative embodiment, Fig. 2 (not shown), the aperture (8) is in the sidewall of the bore (2) and the aperture (9) is in a flat bottom wall of the bore, the resilient ball (4) being pressed against the aperture (9) alone to prevent flow. |
