<p>A gas turbine silencing arrangement is mounted at the end of the tube (2) enclosing the turbine, this tube being lines with sound deadening material (4) inside a perforated sheet (3). A vertical sheet (6) inside the open end carries the gas discharge tube (5). This sheet is similarly covered with sound deadening material (8) retained by a perforated sheet (7). Spaced from this is a parallel sheet (9) with sound deadening material and another perforation sheet (10). This carries a cone shaped refractory element (13) in line with the discharge tube (5) carrying a truncation cone shaped refractory element (15). The gases are then deflected upwards through the jap between the end sheets. The tops of the perforated sheets (7, 10) each side of the jap slope outwards.</p> |
