<p>A row of parallel carrier bars, and a row of parallel transverse bars (2), intersect at 90 degrees to each other and the row of bars (2), sepd. from each other by the required pitch, and in the required number, are fed in steps in their longitudinal direction. At the end of each step, bars (2) are welded to >=1 bars (1) which are fed at 90 degrees to the feed direction of bars (2). Bars (2) are pref. fed in continuous lengths which are sheared after a number of welding operations to obtain grides of the required width. The cost of the process is lower than that involved with conventional methods of grid mfr; and high speed circular saws creating noise which is harmful to health are not used to cut the grids.</p> |
