<p>The pincers consist of one cheek plate screwed into a counter plate, with pawls pivoted about pins and distributed about the circumference of the plate disposed between them. The counter plate is connected to a second plate by a circlip and each plate whelp is provided with a handle so that they can be rotated relative to each other. A piece of flexible pipe fitted with a ferrule and a fixing ring is placed through the central bore of the pincers so that the fixing ring is opposite the pawls. When the handles are squeezed the pawls crimp the fixing ring over the pipe and ferrule making a secure connection.</p> |
