The boundary is formed by means of kerbstones made of concrete. The kerbstones laid in a row on the roadway surfacing are fastened in the surfacing with nails (26). The nails are present in a row in a kerbstone shoulder (12). The latter has a passage opening for each nail (26), which opening opens in the bottom of a conical recess (24). Cast into the passage opening for every nail is a sleeve (22) which is made e.g. of a plastic. When the nail (26) is driven in by means of a hand hammer, the concrete material is not affected because of the recess (24). The nail is furthermore, as a result of a tight fit in the sleeve, guided by the sleeve during driving into the surfacing. Bending of the nail and crack formation on the shoulder (12) are prevented. The base area (14) of each kerbstone can thus be reduced. The driving in of the nail can take place with a tool which is provided with a conical tip which fits into the recess (24). As a result, the tool is correctly aligned during driving in of the nail and the nail can be guided through a channel in the tool tip or through a shell-shaped recess of a striking pin guided in the channel. <IMAGE>
