<p>Machine has a matrix in the form of a rotating drum with slots in its wall. Pistons move radially to-and-fro in the slots. They are operated by a cam. Outside the drum and some distance apart are additional items of equipment. In the direction of rotation there is a fee dotation, a back pressure organ, a discharge staton and a cleaning station. The feed is via a bunker with an outlet forwards the drum. The back pressure organ is a beam running in the axial direction and parallel to the drum axis. The surface in contact with the drum has a coefficient of friction such that when it is in contact with sugar in a slot, the beam moves with the drum. Pressure organ moves concentrically with the drum while the sugar is being compressed. This is achieved without complex guiding mechanisms.</p> |
