<p>The plasma display panel has an ionised gas enclosed between two plates, the outer face of each of which is in contact with the ambient atmosphere. The volume of gas enclosed between the two plates is in communication with auxiliary gas volume, which is enclosed by a flexible membrane also in external contact with the ambient atmosphere. The auxiliary gas volume may be contained within a metal capsule, or by a capsule which has a solid wall at one end and an undulating membrane across the other end, with a stop for limiting its deformation.</p> |
