The two-part case comprises a box and a cover fitting together, and has formed in the base of one of them one or more protruding bosses (2a), engaging in a recess (1b) in the other of complementary shape. Boss and recess can be of tubular or polygonal section, and near the mid-point of one of the edges of the case. The box portion can have a reversible false bottom with sockets of different shapes, to align items packed in the case, and resting on protrusions on the box base, of the same height as the sockets. The false bottom can also have lugs enclosing the recess in which the boss fits.
