PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separator of high separation efficiency and a manufacturing method for a water absorption treatment material using the same.SOLUTION: A separator 1 comprises: a shredding part 10 which shreds polyvinyl chloride wall paper containing polyvinyl chloride and paper; a beating part 20 which beats the polyvinyl chloride wall paper shredded by the shredding part 10 with a beating member 22 to facilitate dissociation of the polyvinyl chloride from the paper; and a separation part 30 which separates polyvinyl chloride having passed through a hole 32a from the polyvinyl chloride wall paper by rotating a drum 32 in a state of storing the polyvinyl chloride wall paper beaten by the beating part 20.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
