<p>Method comprises recycling a convection gas is recycled over the solvent-contg. material in a cycle comprising a drying chamber and an exchanger-cooler with a liq. refrigerant where the solvent is substantially condensed. The liq. refrigerant is of the same nature as the convection gas and at least part of the cooling fluid, in the reheated gaseous state, is mixed with the said convection gas at a point in the cycle beyond the outlet from the solvent condensn. zone. The solvent used condenses at a much lower temp. than water and may be e.g. acetone, ethyl acetate, ethanol, methylene chloride, hexane, pentane, THF, toluene, etc. The convection gas/cooling liq. may be N2 or CO2. Drying is accomplished in a relatively simple appts. which is economical in operation. Drying is carried out with a gas which is inert towards the solvent, and fire risks are reduced by the exclusion of air from the system.</p> |
