<p>The support for heavy duty frames partic. for reinforced concrete, consists of a top member (3), a base member (2) and an intermediate part (1) made of steel sheet. In cross section, this sheet is bent into a square tube with a lobe (4) at each corner. The base carries pegs (13) which can be fitted into corresponding holes in the top member. The thickness of the steel sheet is between 2 and 3 1/2 mm, preferably between 2 1/2 and 3 mm. The ratio of the lobe radius (R1) to the radius (R2) of the concave curve between, is between 0.4 to 0.5, preferably 0.42. The sheet has holes (6) through it, top and bottom. The top and base can be steel castings.</p> |
