1534046 Chewing gum LIFE SAVERS INC 13 May 1976 [15 May 1975 (2) 4 May 1976] 19793/76 Heading A2B A chewing gum having a prolonged flavour comprises a gum base and from 0.02 to 3.5% by wt. of a finely divided poorly water soluble flavour of particle size less than 150 microns dispersed in the gum base. The flavour may be an artificial sweetener, e.g. a form of saccharin or a food acid e.g. fumaric, adipic or succinic acid or both may be present together. The gum may also contain a water soluble food acid e.g. citric, tartaric or malic acid, a water soluble sweetening agent e.g. sugar, a water soluble saccharin salt, dipeptide or cyclamate, a natural or synthetic fruit flavouring or essential and synthetic oil, either alone or in various combinations and admixtures. |
