U-tube steam generator where a primary side inlet chamber and a primary side outlet chamber are combined to form a primary side double chamber. U-shaped heater tubes connect these two chambers and are rolled or welded in the tube plate of the chambers. The heater tubes are arranged in the secondary side pressure chamber. The U-shaped heater tubes (12) are arranged about a central or roughly central shaft (16) of the secondary-side pressure chamber (2) in a total heater tube package (15) or ring- or sector-shaped cross-section. More specifically, segment-shaped fields (13, 14) of inlet - or outlet bores (10 or 11) are arranged in the outer ring (5a) and in the inner ring (5b) of the tube plate (5). Every two radially adjacent bore fields (13, 14) are connected by a segment package of U-shaped heater tubes (12).
