The holder for the detachable mounting of tools and other small articles, comprises a plate with apertures into which hooped bars are fitted. They protrude over one side of the plate. A strip is passed through at least two bars and secured at the end by clamping elements (10) provided on their main part (12) with a push-in tongue (14) and shoulders (16, 18) for abutment against the feet of the hooped bar. A protrusion has a clamping edge which can be continuous or divided up into individual teeth. At the back of the main part of the element there is a recess for the strip which is wider than the tongue in the area of the clamping edge.
