Variable intensity dashboard lights - has dimming resistance switched by light switch and manual overide

The dashboard control lights are dimmed when the light switch is operated, by tapping their supply into the centre of two resistors forming a voltage divider. The intensity of the lights can be controlled between the dim and bright setting by having one of the resistance as a variable type. The system allows the driver to reset the light intensity when driving in fog, during the day. The dashboard illumination can also be controlled by the resistance when the light switch is on.
